@garraslove4ever I became a vegetarian slowly too. It was the best way for me. Some people can go “cold turkey” (no pun intended). I eliminated a meat from my diet every year.

  11. beyondthegarden says:

@PUCCAPANAMA I did the same thing when I became a vegetarian when I was younger. seafood was the last thing I eliminated from my diet. NO worries about protein, you can get that from seitan, tofu, tempeh, soy beans, quinoa, beans, and tons of other plant based proteins.

@pumpkin44 I know that no matter what, the same nutrients will be in food,
but I meant that you need to eat a food a couple times before your body associates the taste with the nutrients in it :)
Like, when I ate meat I hated avacados, raspberries, beans, most nuts, brown rice, spinach, and a list of other foods, but when I became a vegetarian, I ate them just once or twice, and then they wound up becoming some of my fave foods X3

I do eat soo much healthier now though :)

  17. pumpkin44 says:

@MarmaladeMonster I agree that if you are craving something, there might be a reason. Perhaps hormones??? And you do not have to “introduce” foods to your body before it realizes what vitamins are in it. There either are nutrients or not. HOWEVER, our intestine is what absorbs the nutrients and typical meat eaters have much slower stool blocking the absorption. I’m glad you made the healthy choice. Now that you have cleared all that crap out, your body can enjoy what you put in it.

  18. pumpkin44 says:

” if you are craving a hamburger, then go get that hamburger… Or maybe you could also try eating a vegetarian hamburger first making sure you eat a lot of protein” Hamburgers are NOT ALL PROTEIN. Perhaps you haven’t detoxed your body of all the crap and THAT is why you want it. Or possibly iron, if you aren’t a vegetarian who knows to eat leafy greens for that. Yes.. GREENS

  19. pumpkin44 says:

WTF Covergirl is the ad for a vegetarian video! THEN this lady is an IDIOT! The average American already eats 2-3 times more protein than they need (which leads to disease) and she’s telling you to eat more than that! Does sh realize how much protein is needed and how much is in that food she’s talking about. Don’t listen to her or you will get sick. WOW.

  20. MarmaladeMonster says:

So true about the cravings, that;’s what they are, yor body wanting certain nutrients

you need to give your body a few times to realize that a certain food has nutrients it needs,
like for me, before I went veggie, I didn’t like/didn’t eat:
avacados, onions, tomatos, nuts, spinach, whole grains, and lots more,
now I love them all :)

    Great advice.***

  22. JoeMich says:

After watching a video of animal cruelty at a dairy farm, I have decided to go Vegetarian. It’s gonna be hard for me since I love me some steak, but I can’t stand living with myself anymore knowing an animal had to suffer. I know animals get slaughtered each day but to see it really brought chills to my body.

  23. realinohio says:

Actually the transition is easy. Once you notice that you have all these veggies, beans and fruit and they taste awesome If you taste meat after some time.. you realize it doesn’t taste as good as you thought. This was my experience.

  24. leoisillon06 says:

    thanks, great advice.

  25. lcon3 says:

I thought it was going to be hard to stop eating meat but it wasn’t I like it.
