Good one, never heard of it, worth to check it out tho. Now to answer your question I have been making this since I was a kid, and I am now nearly 30, never had any problems. It is a pretty commonly used ingredient in China. You should check it out before you try it, and let me know.

i dont think there is anything to worry about as the oil is very hot and would destroy the spores (you can hear it sizzling when it hits the cold chilli).

What I did was I stored chili and garlic in uncooked olive oil for three weeks. Inside I saw bubbles forming and floating upwards, like in a soda for example. Something is definately growing in there and I'm not taking any chances. :P I think what you should do is to cook the olive oil, use dried chili and not store it for long. Botulism is serious stuff that can even kill you, and it's a bitch to get rid of even with hospital care. If something looks, smells or tastes wrong, throw it away.

: No, you can make this without a pressure cooker. The cooking time will increase to about 30-35 min. or till the quinoa is cooked all the way.

Quinoa and cous cous look the same and kind of taste the same, but nutritionally speaking, quinoa is alot more valueable because it is a seed, full of protein and lots of other goodies, and will fill you up alot more. Cous cous is good, but it is made from semolina which is made from wheat, so it is processed, and man-made. Quinoa is more more wholesome and from nature. :-) Good to enjoy both though. Happy cooking!

Quinoa is an Incan super food/protein originated from PERU, highly regarded in that culture for its nutritional benefits. Just a quick fact, Thanks :)

I am not expert but I don't think they taste the same. I like couscous more. IMO the favor is milder and takes other favors better. I didn't know quinoa was healthier but i am not surprised
